A little background:
Most of you heard the song in question on the website http://www.beansprouts.ca/ which is owned and operated by my close friend Angie Heintz. We, like you; love her. She has been a long time supporter of my music and years ago when she was building the website she asked me if I had anything kicking about that I could contribute. As fate would have it, I had just recorded "I Appreciate You" with my son (who was 4 at the time!) in my home studio on the Sunshine Coast. It was an improvised song and happened very quickly. We were just singing straight from our hearts. We did it once, and then sang over top of it a second time.
After reports from Angie started to trickle in over the last few years about people requesting information about the tune, I kept thinking about re-recording it "properly" but it seemed to sound fine just the way it was. Besides, I'm not big on everything needing to be all polished up and proper all the time. Angie kept urging me to do something with the song and somehow make it available after she had a list of over 100+ requests for the song. It's taken this long because I had been slowly chipping away at some more kids-geared music and thought it would eventually be released all in one go. Well, the kids record is taking a wee bit longer than expected, although admittedly - I'm not in a hurry. So far we've got a rave tune about Lego, a Beastie Boys style song about ping-pong (that rules) and a song about aliens landing outside during a birthday party. That song is available here too!
